What is MacLellan Metal Finishing?
Rodney started his metal finishing/fabricating business, specializing in stainless steel, brass, and aluminum, by refinishing aluminum/stainless wheels on cars and trucks after being taught by his uncle in the Boston area. It developed from there into doing brass pieces in churches, motorcycle parts and pharmaceutical work (i.e. inside holding tanks, which are made of stainless steel, which have to have a pharmaceutical finish on the inside). His most recent work involves finishing stainless steel doors, which were sent to the US for a local door and frame manufacturer. Similar jobs are currently being negotiated. He also does stainless steel tubing for an international aerospace giant.
More recently, he has been the manufacturer and finisher of kitchen redesigns, bringing a cutting edge style to an outdated area. More challenging feats include finishing work on 6’ X 8” Schedule 80 stainless steel bollards for a Federal Building in Northeastern United States. Rodney has also made life easier for a local manufacturer of bagpipes. He now cuts down the labor intensive job of polishing and buffing the brass rings of the bagpipes for the manufacturer, bringing them to a mirror finish, so the manufacturer can focus on the sweet sound of the bagpipes, and letting Rodney worry about the brass. Rodney is also currently engaging in the finish work on a glass/stainless staircase ordered by a bank in Bermuda. When seeing the range of product Rod has been involved in manufacturing; large to small jobs; modern/cutting edge works of art to industrial work, it is shown that he and his business are very versatile, flexible and top notch.
